Timothy Crews31/12/2022This RTT has been amazing. After nearly five years and having covered thousands of miles the tent still looks new every time it’s opened. I have stored the tent outside s in the scorching desert heat and the military grade canvas is strong as ever. It’s warm in the winter and cool in the summer. The tent and annex have far surpassed my expectations, it has stood up to four Labrador retrievers countless abrasions off-road. I’ve dropped the tent off the side of my vehicle when repositioning without any damage whatsoever. This says a lot about the materials and workmanship that goes into these products. I’d recommend Hitents to anyone seeking a quality RTT. Don’t settle for the junk being sold by other manufacturers. Lastly the customer service offered has been top notch. I’m sure my tent will bring many more years of use as it doesn’t even seem to be broken in.
Brennen Hill07/09/2022Aside from making an awesome product, the guys at HITents are incredible. I emailed them needing some extra mounting hardware and they promptly emailed back. I got pulled away on a work assignment, and received a personal phone call from HITents to make sure I was getting my problem resolved. These guys are sincere about making a great tent, and looking after their customers. Can’t recommend them enough. It’s a great company to do business with, especially when making an investment on something like a RTT
Eric Mercer09/02/2022This is by far the BEST RTT on the market! I did A LOT of research and after exhausting many web searches, calls, material samples, etc…I went with HIT. You receive a quality product…I mean that. You can tell from the product to the packaging that it is not a push out the door product. Customer service can’t be beat…Graham…the owner is a hands on guy that had several conversations with me on the phone to clear up some questions I had. Bottom line…you will not find a better product and better customer service than HIT! I purchased the Expedition Grade Huasna and it is BIG! Fits perfect on my 2018 4Runner atop a Cali Raised roof rack. Side note: The RTT I purchased takes up my entire roof rack but it is the biggest model they offer. Easy installation …can’t tell much of a difference on the ride with it up there. Go get one and get after it people!
Eddie Zhao19/08/2019These are truly the best tents for the best rooftop camping experience. If you're willing to invest in a rooftop tent which they are definitely not cheap, you'll want to buy the best quality tent with even better customer service. Graham is the owner and founder of the company and he will personally see to it that you'll be satisfied with your purchase. If you're a local to central CA, he's willing to even help with the installation of your new tent personally (of course for a small fee) but to have the owner of the company provide this level of service is just unrivaled. That's the difference between buying from the large corps that make these tents and supporting a local business. These tents are as sturdy and tough as RTT's can get. I own a Jalama Expedition tent and I've used it on a few trips up in the eastern sierra's with elevation north of 11-12k and temps below freezing with winds howling in the night. All we had to do was take the rain fly down and you won't get the annoying sound of materials violently flapping and keeping you up all night. Not to mention the memory foam mattress kept us comfy, cozy, and warm all night. All I can say is I'm extremely satisfied with my purchase. Sean C06/04/2019We bought one of these tents with several accessories about 3 years ago and absolutely love it, we have mounted it on the top of our Jeep, and then had a rack built to put it in the bed of our truck, it has been an amazing thing for the backwoods camping, to get to places where you can only get to by 4x4 and get away from it all, the quality is top notch, it is heavy canvas like a military tent and virtually indestructible, I look forward to using it every year and can hardly wait to get it back on my truck, and my grandson really loves camping in it, we look forward to many years of enjoyment out camping with it, being mounted on the truck allows us to pull a trailer and haul ATVs so we can do combination ATV camping trips, thank you so much to HiTents for a quality product and great service. Five stars all the way
Blake Reimer04/04/2019Personally, I like my tent. It does what I wanted it to do, erects and collapses without much stress, the fabric and rain fly are robust and the stitching is quite good. Four stars only for two issues: 1. The alignment and fit of the hinge was not set up well when I received it, resulting in the front door being too tight to zip up. I'm pretty good with tools and was able to realign it without surgery but someone with lesser skills would likely struggle. 2. The travel cover is made of rugged material, but the fit and stitching was poor. TO HITENT'S CREDIT, THEY COMPED US A NEW COVER. I also understand they have redesigned the cover. So, excellent customer service! Prior to purchasing a Hitent, I looked at Tepui and was not impressed - stitching was terrible and design was not nearly as trim as I wanted. I will say the Tepui ladder is best in class, but the rest fell short in my opinion. Though some of the African tents are excellent eezi-awn comes to mind, (and very expensive!), I'm quite happy with my Hitent, the overall quality, and value. Lots of RTT's around, and a lot of junk. Shop carefully and take a look at HITENT'S offerings, it might just fit the bill!
